Inverness

Inverness, derived from the Scottish Gaelic: Inbhir Nis, meaning “Mouth of the River Ness”, is a city in the Scottish Highlands, granted city status in 20001. It serves as the administrative centre for The Highland Council and is regarded as the capital of the Highlands.
